Services for Gerald Bruce Allen, 57, of 1734 E. Ridgeway Ave., will be 1 p.m. Monday at Chapel of Memories West with burial in Waterloo Cemetery.
He died Thursday afternoon of a heart attack at his summer home in Prairie DeChien, Wis.
Mr. Allen was born March 20, 1923, at Sigourney, son of Floyd and Kathryn Beasley Allen. He married Vivian A. Neith Dec. 6, 1941, in Waterloo. He had been a self-employed general contractor for the past two years, and prior to that had been employed by Don Gardner Construction Co. in Waterloo.
He served in the Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James Lee of 409 Dixie Circle, Evansdale; a daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Michelsen of 1600 Mitchell Ave.; five grandchildren; his father of Marshalltown.
There will be a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Sunday at Chapel of Memories West, conducted by Martin Lodge No. 624 AF & AM. Flag folding rites will be at the cemetery by Becker-Chapman Post No. 138 of the American Legion.
Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital in his name. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday.
