Death of Hiram Campbell
Hiram Campbell. one of the old and respected early settlers of Hamilton county, died at his home in Cedar Falls yesterday afternoon, of malarial fever, at the age of seventy seven years. Mr. Campbell came to Hamilton county with his family in 1866 and settled near Homer. He resided in this county continuously thereafter until 1899 when he went to Cedar Falls to pass this declining years with his daughter. He was taken sick about six weeks ago and for several weeks was very low. But he seemed to be improving and hopes for his ultimate recovery were high. However, he grew suddenly worse and died unexpectedly. He leaves four children as follows: Arthur and Frank C. of this county, John L. of Fairmont, Minn., and Mrs. Geo. W. Hughes of Cedar Falls. The funeral will be held in Cedar Falls and the remains will arrive here on the 12:46 train tomorrow afternoon for interment in the Webster City cemetery.
