Jack Carlson, 64, Webster City, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Foster Funeral Home with Rev. John Grebner, officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday prior to the service.
Jack LeRoy Carlson, son of Leonard and Beulah Balsley Carlson, was born March 2, 1938. He received his education from the Jewell, Blairsburg and Webster City Schools. On Oct. 30, 1956, he married Elizabeth Anne Powell at Webster City. They resided at Webster City, then moved to Wisconsin in 1965, returning to Webster City a year later. He had been employed at Croft Ready-Mix, Hellers, Luppes Transport, Bork Transport, Iowa Tank Lines, all of Webster City and Milligan Bros. of Baxter, Iowa. Mrs. Carson died Nov. 30, 1992. On August 16, 2000, he married Angela Powell Turner Clabaugh at Webster City. The couple resided at Webster City.
Mr. Carlson is survived by his wife, daughters and son-in-law, Rolanda and Calvin Britson of Pearland, Texas, Jackie Roberts of Belmond; grandchildren, Melissa, James and Jeremy Roberts; Ryan and Amber Britson; sisters, Loraine Martin of Carlisle, Lorene Grandgeorge of Eagle Grove; brother Leonard Carlson of Webster City; step-sons, Robert and Brad Turner of Fort Dodge, and step-grandson, Matthew Turner; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a sister in infancy.
He was a former member of the Webster City Moose Lodge.
