NAME: Cocks, Peter (m. Mrs. Mary Ellis)

 The Death took place, on Thursday week, of Mr. Peter Cocks, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Cupit. He was aged seventy-eight years. Previous to coming to reside here, Mr. and Mrs. Cocks kept the Post Office at Irnham for upwards of fifty years, and were held in high esteem. Mrs. Cocks died some two years ago. The funeral of Mr. Cocks took place on Monday conducted by the Rev. Father Van der Kallen. The principal mourners were: - Mrs. Cupit (daughter), Mr. F. Cocks (Peterborough) and Mr. J. Cocks (brothers), C. and H. Cupit, Clare and Tom Ellis, James Cocks, and Mrs. Partridge (grand-children), Mrs. F. Cocks (sister-in-law), Mrs. Jackson, Mrs. Matsell, Mrs. Burnett, Mrs. Bradshaw, Miss Podam, Mrs. Bristow (Irnham), Mrs. Partridge, Mrs. J. Musson, and Miss Wade. The coffin was of elm, with black fittings. By deceased's special request there were no flowers.
