 George W. Cox, 90, of Shabbona, died Tuesday, January 6, 1998 at Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb.
 He was born April 1, 1907 on the family farm in rural Shabbona, the son of George and Ellen (Dugan) Cox. George farmed all his life in rural Shabbonaa and was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Lee.
 Survivors in clude three brothers: Vincent Cox in Shabbona, Charles (Mercedes) Cox of Prairie du Sac, WI, and Harold (Helen) Cox of Lee, a sister: Regina (William) Knights of Peoria; seven nephews and two nieces.
 He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mary who died in infancy, and Frances Cox Follin, and two brothers: Frederick and Meryl.
 Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 1998 at St. James Catholic Church in Lee with Father Louis Pesut officiating. Burial will be in St. James Calvary Cemetery, Lee. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday. January 9, 1998 at the Jacobson Funeral Home in Shabbona. A liturgical service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
 A memorial is being established.
