 Mass of the Christian Burial for Catherine B. Masterson, 81, was held Feb.24 at 2 p.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lohrville. The Rev. FatherDale Koster officiated. Casketbearers were Merle Gommels, A. Robert Miller,Jerry Brend, Bill Brend, Dick Brend and Ed Burk. Interment was in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Manson.
 Catherine Berniece Masterson, daughter of John and Mary Cronin Crowley, was born on her parents' farm southwest of Lohrville, Oct. 17, 1905. She died Feb. 22, 1987 at Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City folowing a long illness with cancer.
 She attended country school and later school in Lohrville. She was married to John E. Masterson in February of 1938 in Lohrville. The couple farmed in the Manson area until Mr. Masterson's death in 1965. Catherine returned to the Lohrville area the fall of 1965, and in 1984 she moved to Maplewood Retirement Apartments in Lohrville.
 Survivors include her children, Mary Booge of Sioux City and Mike Masterson of What Cheer; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
