JOHN H. CUMMINGS
 A verdict of suicide was returned by the acting coroner in the death of John H. Cummings, who was found dead of a gunshot wound at 8:30 o'clock this morning at his home, 503 Carlton Avenue.
 Mr. Cummings was 80 years of age. He married Miss Mary Frances Via of Brown's Cove, who died Nov. 24, 1940. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Lillian Gibson of this city, Mrs. Eva Kennedy of Waynesboro, and Mrs. Beatrice Schnabel of Auburtis, Pa.

J. H. CUMMINGS RITES
 The funeral of John H. Cummings will be held at noon tomorrow from the Hill and Irving Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 2 o'clock in Prize Hill cemetery.
 Mr. Cummings was a native of Iowa, son of the late John and Margaret Bowers Cummings, and was 81 years of age. Surviving are one son, Harvey Cummings, of this city, and three daughters, Mrs. Henry Schamble of Allentown, Penn., Mrs. Ernest C. Gibson and Mrs. Herbert Kennedy, both of this city. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Thomas of Huntington, W. Va., and a half-sister.
