GOWRIE - Janice M. Gutshall, 71, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, after a courageous fight with lung cancer for four years, at Mary Greely Medical Center, Ames. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Gowrie with Pastor Jan Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Reading Township Cemetery, Farnhamville. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie.
Survivors include her husband Don Gutshall of Farnhamville, daughter Dianne Goberis (Don) of Broomfield, Colo. and their children Alyssa and Scott, son Steve Gutshall (Pam) of Farnhamville and their children Tyson (Samantha), Tonia Harrison (Brandon) and Tami, great-grandchild Sophia Gutshall, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Virginia (Carr) Dingman, brothers Enrick Dingman and George Dingman, Jr.
Janice Marie Dingman was born Sept. 4, 1936 at Fort Dodge and attended Dayton High School. She was united in marriage with Don Gutshall on Jan. 26, 1953. They established their home on a farm near Gowrie later moving to a farm in 1964 near Farnhamville. Janice was a homemaker and later employed with Three Ladies Jewelry in Gowrie. Her hobbies included gardening, square dancing, quilting, and skiing.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, TTT of Farnhamville Red Hat Ladies and enjoyed spending winters in Arizona.
