Funeral services for Mrs. John Caffrey were held Friday, Jan. 3 at the Baptist church in Pipestone, Minn., and were in charge of the Rev. Paul Boomer. A quartet composed of Donald Gilmer, mrs. Paul Boomer, Wilbur Geary and Mrs. Wallace Gullick sang, "He is so Precious to Me" and "God Will Take Care of You."
The remains were then taken to Webster City where services were held Saturday afternoon, Jan. 5, at the Foster Funeral Home. The body was laid to rest beside the remains of her husband in the Catholic Cemetery. The pallbearers were: Roy Clabaugh of Dolliver, Grant Whipple of Webster City, Frank, Guy, and Harold Scott of Stratford.
Mrs. Caffrey died at the Ashton Memorial Hospital on Jan. 3 and at her death was nearly 68 years old. Emma Alice Duckett was born in Webster City, March 31, 1877. She was united in marriage with John Caffrey in Webster City, Feb. 15, 1897 and for a good many years they made their home on a farm northeast of Stratford. They moved to Minnesota in 1914 and for some years lived near Lake Wilson and Woodstock, moving to Pipestone in 1940. There her husband died Jan. 29, 1940.
She is survived by one son, Vern Caffrey, of Omaha, Nebr., four grandchildren, one brother, Elmer Duckett of Estherville, three sisters, Mrs. Dewey Lowell of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Francis Swift of Webster City and Mrs. Nettie Scott of Stratford.
