NAME: Duckett, Jacob (m. Martha Frances Brock)

LIVED IN COUNTY FOR SIXTY YEARS
  Jacob Duckett, a pioneer settler of Hamilton County, passed away last Thursday at Webster City at the home of his daughter, Mrs. N.C. Clabaugh. Mr. Duckett had been sick only about a week and the cause of his taking away was acute meningitis. The deceased would have been 86 years old June 26th of this year, and has resided in this county sixty years. He lived for many years on a farm in the vicinity of Saratoga, but of late years made his home in Webster City. Mr. Duckett had a wide acquaintance throughout the county, especially among the old settlers.
 Two sons and six daughters remain to mourn his death, his wife having passed to her reward some five years ago. The children are Elmer, residing in Fort Dodge; Mrs. Anna Lowell of Williams; Mrs. W.L. Scott of Stratford; Mrs. John Caffrey of Lake Wilson, Minnesota; Mrs. N.C. Clabaugh, Mrs. Chas. Gage, Mrs. Henry Smith and Frank Duckett of Webster City.
 The funeral services were held at the Saratoga Church Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Dick of Stanhope. The remains were laid to rest by the side of his wife in the Saratoga Cemetery.
