ALVIN EDGAR, PROFESSOR EMERITUS OF MUSIC, DIED SUNDAY
  Alvin R. Edgar, 111 Lynn Ave., professor emeritus of music and former head of the music department at ISU was stricken while attending a meeting Sunday at the Amana Colonies and died in route to University Hospitals in Iowa City.
 He was born at Eldora, Jan. 11, 1903. He and Mildred Lane were married Nov. 7, 1925. Surviving are his wife, and a daughter, Margaret Ann McWilliams of Fullerton, Calif., and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce, and a sister, Viola Edgar.
