NAME: Hubel, Josephine Anna (m. John Leonard Penn)

 Josephine Ann Hubel was born at Plover, Iowa, on February 10, 1890. Her death occurred at her home in Willmar on May 1 from a heart attack.
 Her youth was spent at Rolfe, Iowa, and in 1908 she was married to John Penn at Pocahontas, Iowa. They resided at Rolfe and then moved to Maynard in 1916 where they lived for three years, coming to Kandiyohi county in 1919. Here she lived until her death.
 Mrs. Penn was loving wife and mother, whose only thought was of her home and family.
 Surviving are her husband and the following children: Nellie (Mrs. Robert Schwendemen) of Benson; Fern (Mrs. Julius Strand) of Lake Lillian; Evelyn (Mrs. Joseph Van Heuveln) of Raymond; John Jr. of Rt. 2 Willmar; Donna and Effie of Willmar and Willis Penn of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. There are six grandchildren. Three brothers also survive: Fred Hubel of Detroit, Mich.; William L. Hubel of Maynard and Vencil Hubel of mansintique, Mich.
 Funeral services were held on Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Wessman. Alfred Zupke sand "Abide With Me", and "Beyond the Sunset" was sang by Virginia and Dorothy Johnson and "He the Pearly Gates Will Open" was sung by Mr. and Mrs. Waldron Borman.
 Burial was at Fairview. Pallbearers were Russel Peterson, Arthur Kleven, William Robertson, Miner Anderson, Page Welch and Oscar Anderson of Willmar.
