MARY E. SMITH PASSES
Mary E. Smith died last Wednesday at the home of her son at Brighton, Minn. The funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church at Plover Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The service was conducted by Rev. Whetzel and the body was laid at rest in the Powhatan cemetery.
Mary E. Hubel was born in Vining, Tama county, Iowa, May 11, 1869 (1860). Died November 13,1918, aged 58 years, 6 months and 2 days. Married J. S. Smith January 6, 1879. Settled in Fort Dodge, where she lived until 1883, when they moved to Plover, which had been her home practically ever since.
Six children were born to this union. Two of them, together with her husband, have passed before her into the beyond.
Four children are still living - William J., James A., Albert J. and Lucile A. - and are all present today. Nine grandchildren, one brother, William A. Hubel, and one sister, Mrs. Anna E. Drahos, are left to mourn her loss.
She was an earnest and worthy member of the Presbyterian church....will be.....[unreadable]
