OBIT: Register, Dixon, Illinois, 11 Jan 1973

 Amboy-Kenneth E. Near, 63, rural Franklin Grove, an area farmer, died in KSB Hospital Dixon, Illinois, Wednesday night following a short illness.
 He was born Apr. 21, 1909 in South Dixon twp. the son of William and Mary (Cox) Near. He was married Oct. 23, 1934 in Amboy to Rachel Wittenauer.
 Survivors include his widow; 4 sons: Duane of Lincoln; Douglas, Franklin Grove; William and Robert at home; two daughters, Mrs. John (Beverly) Bach, Carpentersville; Mrs. Harlow (Carol) Burguss, Aupburg, Germany; a sister Mrs. Roy (Esther) Conibear, Lee Center and 9 grandchildren.
 Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Mihm-Jones Funeral home with the Rev. Paul Troy, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, Franklin Grove, officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Dixon, Illinois.
 Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. Friday.
