Mrs. Gilbert A. Hunt, 85, of Pocahontas died Sunday afternoon, March 3, 1974, at Pocahontas Manor Care Center West after being in failing health for a number of years. Mrs. Hunt had been a resident of the care center since February, 1972.
Funeral services were held March 5 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pocahontas with burial in Calveary Cemetery here. Casket bearers were Roger Hunt, James D. Bartosh, William Mackovets, Charles Shimon, Eugene Eckert and John Kopriva. [In pencil it looks like Haward Skinner or Shimon was added]
Emma Prusha was born at Chelsea, Iowa, March 30, 1888 and graduated from the high school at Chelsea. She was married to Gilbert Hunt of Pocahontas at Chelsea on June 8, 1915 and they have always made their home in Pocahontas.
Survivors include the widower Gilbert; a daughter, Mrs. M. F. (Charlene) Kepler of Denver, Colo., and seven grandchildren. A son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hunt of Joliet, Ill., were fatally injured in an automobile accident in 1964 and their six children have since been at home with Dr. and Mrs. Eugene Carran of Joliet, Ill.
