 Mrs. Clifford Smith, 85, longtime Webster City area resident, died Tuesday morning at the Southfield Care Center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Rosary services will be at 8:15 p.m. Thursday in the Foster Funeral Home.
 Surviving are sons, Cletus Smith, Fort Dodge; Eugene Smith, Lake Jackson, Tex.; daughter, Mrs. Daryl Bottorff, Sac City; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Sadie Eccles, Rolfe, and brother, Benjamin Wolfe, California.
 Mary Wolfe was born on a farm near Rolfe where she was educated. She taught school in the Pocahontas area. In 1911, she married Clifford Smith and they resided in the Gilmore City and Duncombe areas before moving to a farm near Webster City. They moved into Webster City in 1941. Mr. Smith died in 1956.
